yes, you can. I successfully tried to install Cinderella.2 using the generic Java installer from http://cinderella.de/download using

java -jar install.jar

in the terminal.

It is also possible to scale down the icon buttons by adding the line

cinderella.imagebutton.scale=.75

to the cinderella2.properties or cinderella2-user.properties file, which fits the small screen of the eeepc better.
